Enda Kenny met with Baxter chiefs during a visit to the company’s headquarters in Deerfield, Illinois
Taoiseach Enda Kenny met with senior management of one of Mayo’s biggest employers, Baxter Healthcare, during a recent trade mission to the USA.
The Taoiseach met with Baxter chiefs during a visit to the company’s headquarters in Deerfield, Illinois.
Mr Kenny said the company restated their commitment to Ireland and to their factory in Castlebar, referencing the recent addition of 100 jobs to their facility in the county town.
That jobs boost brings the number of people employed by Baxter in Castlebar to just over 1,000.
“It was very welcome news that Baxter continue their long standing commitment to Castlebar and it is important to highlight the positive developments happening at the plant. Oftentimes, the good news stories from Baxter are not highlighted enough and the future plans for the company include an ongoing commitment to Ireland and Mayo,” the Taoiseach said.
