Driver leaves scene of accident in Ballinrobe

Gardaí are seeking information in relation to a road traffic accident in which the driver of one vehicle left the scene.

GARDAÍ in Ballinrobe are seeking the public’s assistance following a two car collision in which a man was injured. The two car collision occurred on the Castlebar Road outside Ballinrobe at 10.10am on Friday last.
One male was removed from the scene and brought to Mayo University Hospital after the driver of the second car fled the scene.
The male’s injuries were described by gardaí as ‘not life threatening’.
The collision occurred on the N84 main Castlebar to Galway road outside Ballinrobe, around the area known locally as Creagh gates [back gates] on the Castlebar Road.
Diversions have been put in place for a time and the road reopened shortly before lunchtime.
Gardaí have appealed to the public who have any information regarding the accident and the driver of the second car to call Claremorris Garda Station on 094 9371222.
