Mayo man collects half a million in online Lotto

ONE lucky National Lottery online player from Mayo has collected a cheque for a whopping €500,000 after he hit the 9pm Daily Million Plus jackpot on Thursday, June 16. The online player, who wishes to keep his win private, is a lifetime Lottery player and he spoke of his delight at scooping the half-million euro prize jackpot.
“When I opened my Lottery account that night, I spotted the Daily Million Plus numbers and I immediately knew that I might have matched four or five of them before I checked it properly. I just could not believe it when I received the message to contact National Lottery Headquarters,” he said.
“It is a fantastic experience to come to Dublin and to the National Lottery offices to pick up such a big cheque. This €500,000 will make an incredible difference to my life and to my family. I have a lot of work to do in my house but I will also take good care of my family and maybe take a holiday and get a new car in the coming months.”  
Since the National Lottery launched its Play Online service in May 2009, online players have won a total of over €41.2 million, including 19 jackpot prizes in National Lottery draw-based games.
