BUSINESS people and the young and not so young of Ballinrobe will find out what it is like to be homeless this Friday.
As part of a nationwide initiative by Focus Ireland to raise awareness and funds for the homeless, members of the community, together with Tacú Family Resource Centre are organising a ‘Shine a light on homelessness’ event.
Ballinrobe resident Mags O’Malley and business owner Anne Marie Murphy have come together to raise awareness of the growing issue of homelessness by holding the event.
Local business owners and all interested in participating will donate money in order to ‘bed down’ for the evening on Main Street in the town.
Monica Horan from the Tacú centre said the reaction from local businesses has been ‘very positive’.
“Anyone can do it, the more the merrier,” said Ms Horan.
It takes place this Friday, October 16 on Main Street, Ballinrobe from 5pm until 1am.
You can donate on www.justgiving.com/Tac-Family-Resource-. For more information contact 087 2607771 or visit Tacú’s Facebook page Tacú Ballinrobe.
