GARDAÍ are seeking public assistance after a number of break-ins were reported in the south Mayo area.
On Friday morning at 8.30am staff at Cross National School reported a break in to An Garda SíochΡna.
Glass had been broken on an outer door of the school and a small amount of cash was taken. A scenes of crime examiner visited the site and took evidence, however results are still pending.
On September 19 three houses in the same housing estate in Shrule were broken into between the hours of 3am and 5am.
In the first property, entry was gained to the house via a door which was left unsecured, and an amount of cash was taken.
A rear window was used to gain entry to the second house, however nothing was reported missing.
A small amount of cash was taken from the third home, along with the keys of a van, the van was not taken.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who might have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in either area on the dates in question.
In relation to home security, gardaí are urging people to ensure doors and windows are properly secured and where possible, to install a security light or alarm.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Claremorris Garda Station on 094 9371222.
