Foxford Fianna Fáilers have passed a motion calling for Beverley Flynn to be re-admitted to the party.
Foxford backs Beverley, with others set to follow

BEVERLEY Flynn’s anticipated re-admission to the Fianna Fáil party gathered further momentum last Thursday night when Foxford Comhairle Ceantair unanimously passed a motion calling for the Castlebar deputy to be allowed back into the party. All nine of the cumainn in the Foxford area were at the well-attended meeting and all expressed the wish that there should be no delay in the process. The support of the Foxford organisation comes just three weeks after the Westport Fianna Fáil cumann also passed a similar motion. Ballina TD, Dara Calleary, was in attendance at the meeting along with Foxford county councillor and long-time Beverley Flynn supporter, Cllr Jimmy Maloney. Deputy Calleary said the general feeling at the meeting was Deputy Flynn’s re-admittance into Fianna Fáil would be good for the party – and good for the Castlebar TD’s political future. “The majority of people at the meeting felt that Mayo would have a better chance all-round with two Government TDs able to state the case for the county,” said Deputy Calleary, who added that other comhairle ceantairs in the county were likely to discuss the issue further at future meetings. “Foxford decided to have their meeting before the holiday period of August. I expect other comhairle ceantair in the county to discuss this issue at their meetings, the majority of which will be held in September and October. It’s only fair and proper that each cumann make up their own mind on the issue,” concluded the Ballina TD
