SOME of the most expensive and stylish cars in the world will be travelling through the streets of Ballina next month as part of the ‘Cannonball’ run which is in its sixth year.
Super cars such as McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Masseratti, Rolls Royce and Bentley will be rolling into the Quay in Ballina on Saturday, September 13 for a lunch -stop over as part of Cannonball 6.
Cannonball 6, sponsored by Manhattan Popcorn, is the largest organised road trip in Europe and the most exciting motoring and social event of the year with most of the world’s top mark cars. It takes place from Friday, September 12 to Sunday, September 14 with 160 super cars worth an estimated €25 milllion travelling around Ireland raising money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
The Cannonball 6 arrives into Balllina at 12.30pm for a lunch stop-over and 160 of the world’s most powerful cars will be on display to the public until 3.30pm. The cars will then do a parade through the middle of the town before heading off to Galway for the night stop.
While they are in Ballina there will be a family friendly fun-filled festival in the Quay area with activities including airplane stunts, jet-ski stunts, live music all day, food stalls and kids activities.
Cannonball is the brainchild of Kildare businessman and AB Signs proprietor, Alan Bannon and has raised over €600,000 for children’s charities.
