LATEST A man in his 60s has been killed after being struck by a van on the Ballycastle Road, Killala
Man killed in Killala road accident
A man in his 60s was fatally injured after he was struck by a van in Killala in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
The fatal incident occurred on the Ballycastle Road, Killala, at approximately 3.30am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van was uninjured.
The stretch of road was closed to facilitate an examination by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions were put in place. The road was later reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have driven on the road this morning to contact Killala Garda Station on 096 32111, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
