Residents living within the Grid West project study area will be sent an information letter regarding the project in the coming days. The purpose of the letter is to update the residents on the project, the work that has been carried out to date and information on the next phase of public consultation. The Grid West project, which was launched in May 2012, and it is hoped it will deliver 21st century energy infrastructure to the west of Ireland and enable the region to develop its rich renewable energy resources, with the potential to facilitate job creation and attract investors that require a strong and reliable power supply. “The project team is committed to the delivery of a consultation process which ensures on-going, meaningful two-way engagement with all stakeholders and, critically, with people living and working in the project study area,” explained Alan McHugh, the Grid West Project Manager. “By writing to all households we want to ensure that awareness of the project is increased.”
