MAYO ladies manager Frank Browne is basking in the glow of his first national title this week after leading his team to the NFL Division 1 crown last Sunday.
Mayo hammered Galway by ten points at Dr Hyde Park and Browne was looking ahead to the Connacht Championship when he spoke to The Mayo News last night.
“I thought it was a very good performance. I suppose after the defeat the previous week we knew we hadn’t played to our full potential and I think we really hit top gear. We had said all year we would try and peak for a league final.
“It’s a long time since we beat Galway at senior level and I have to say I was worried that it would start to get into our heads a little. But these things have to end somewhere.
“Our next game is against Sligo and after that we take on Roscommon the following week. We need to win both of those to get to the Connacht final. If we can do that we will have a few days off to relax and come back fresh.”
