Lisa Keane’s Halloween Postman Pat antics have gone global, garnering over 63,000 hits on YouTube
POSTMAN PATRICIA Fahy’s Lisa Keane has seen the video of her as Postman Pat go viral on YouTube with over 63,000 hits. She’s pictured with Jess (Suzanne Heraty).

IT started out as an idea for a Halloween costume, but now Lisa Keane’s adoption of Postman Pat’s uniform and colours has gone global, with over 63,000 hits on YouTube and calls from ABC television in America looking for details. Sound mad? Well it is, but in the two weeks since Lisa won the Halloween fancy dress costume in T Bourke’s Bar in Westport, her costume and antics have been talked about on radio stations and in newspapers, with even the executives at YouTube wanting to advertise on the video’s page, such is the sudden spike in viewers of ‘The Craic With Pat!!’. Now, 27-year-old Lisa from Fahy outside Westport, is putting her new found fame to good use and has agreed to visit local schools in the run-up to Christmas to deliver letters from Santa to the children - well, every letter needs someone reliable to deliver it! “I was never into acting but always had a fondness for dressing up for Halloween,” she told The Mayo News. “My nephew loves Postman Pat and I got the idea from him so after buying the costume and the various other bits to complete it, I decided that Pat needed his van and I set about making it with my friends Lisa and Ellen Moore and Suzanne Heraty (who plays the role of ‘Jess’, Pat’s trusty feline sidekick).” That was a labour of love and took over two weeks of cutting cardboard and painting for a while every day to get the red van right. She plays the Postman Pat Theme Tune from inside the van, and it even has a horn and working lights. “It’s a bit crazy what has happened,” she admitted. “I got contacted by ABC News and after I put the van up for sale on Done Deal as a joke, i-Radio tried to buy it. I never thought it would go like this, I can’t believe the reaction or the amount of hits on the video.” People are now stopping Lisa on the street and she has overheard others talking about it, but the public can rest assured that while the whole thing was conceived as a joke, Lisa has a few more tricks in store for her alter ego, and we have not seen the last of him yet. Just don’t get impatient if you meet Postman Pat at a drive-thru anywhere soon. Why? Check out ‘The Craic With Pat!!’ on You Tube to find out.
