GARDAÍ have appealed to people in Mayo to be vigilant, following a spate of robberies in the county last week. 
A sum of money was stolen from Campbell’s pub in Murrisk on Thursday last, April 5. The owner left the premises for less than an hour around mid-day and returned to find his back door had been forced open and a quantity of money was missing.
Two other burglaries took place, one in a house in Crossmolina, in which a substantial amount of jewellery was stolen, and another on the Foxford road in Ballina. A quantity of cash was  stolen.
The thefts continued into the holiday weekend when a resident of the caravan park in Knock returned from an Easter service on Good Friday night to discover that his caravan had been broken into and his flatscreen television and a quantity of cash missing.
A Garda spokesperson asked people not to leave valuables inside vehicles after a series of break-ins, one at Silver Strand outside Louisburgh on Easter Sunday, and another on Main Street in Newport on Saturday.
In Carrowmore, Knock on Good Friday meanwhile, two mobile phones and a handbag were stolen from another vehicle which also had a window smashed.

Castlebar Gardaí are also investigating an arson attack on a vehicle outside a premises at Gorteendrunagh on Good Friday.
In Ballina meanwhile, a car was stolen from outside the windscreen centre in Ardnaree between 9am and 5pm on Thursday last, April 5.
Anybody who might have seen this vehicle is asked to contact Gardaí in Ballina on 096 21422.
