Bev campaigners warned

FIANNA Fáil has threatened to expel from the organisation members who actively support candidates in the forthcoming election other than those standing for the party.
The warning from Dáilcheantar Mhaigh Eo is specifically aimed at those party members who are supporting Independent candidate Beverley Flynn (right) in her bid for re-election.
In a letter to the party’s candidates, public representatives, chairpersons and secretaries of comhairlí cheantair, the secretary, Eamonn Joyce, has drawn to their attention the following resolution passed at the party’s recent Ard Fheis.
‘That this Ard Fheis amends Rule 7 (iv) to read: Any member of Fianna Fáil who actively supports a candidate other than a duly ratified Party candidate, at a Local, Dáil or European Parliament Election shall automatically be deemed to be expelled from the Organisation, subject to a right of appeal to the Ard Comhairle.’
