Kiltimagh road runs out of money - again

Work on the road connecting Kiltimagh to Bohola looks set to halt again due to a lack of funding
Road works run out of money

WORK on the Kiltimagh to Bohola road is set to stop again after claims that the project has run out of money.
Only money for one week of work is left and home owners will have to contend with poor conditions for the next 18 months, according to Fine Gael County Councillor Eugene Lavin.
It was announced at last week’s Swinford Electoral Area Committee meeting that work would cease in the next week due to a lack of funding in what has been described ‘as a large blow to the people in the area’.
“They do a bit every year or two years and the gist of it is that the road just isn’t getting finished,” said Cllr Lavin.
“There are about five families that have to get onto that road through rubble and gravel and it doesn’t look likely that the project is going to start again until after 2011.”
However a new project to improve infrastructure in the area has been approved with €1m being set aside for work on the Foxford to Mount Falcon road. Work is set to begin in the next few months.
