Small crowd attends latest Joe Coleman visit to Knock

SELF-proclaimed Dublin visionary Joe Coleman (pictured) was back at Knock Shrine on Saturday for what turned out to be an extremely low key affair. The thousands that attended his visits last September and October were but a distant memory. Less than 100 people joined Joe on this occasion. Only a week ago on his internet website, Knockapparitions.com, Mr Coleman proclaimed that a “great healing” would take place at Knock Shrine on Saturday 25th September, 2010 at 3pm. The message on the website proclaimed: “Multitudes of souls will be saved. Great graces will be bestowed on my children for this day the 25th Saturday has been called the day of spiritual renewal for all of the world. Lost and forgotten souls will be brought forward into the arms of God the Father and they shall be pure once more. Praise God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit for he is the Mighty One, Our Creator and Lord of all things, past present and to come. Our Father’s will must be done and carried out according to his Plan” According to Joe Coleman, he seemed to be taken out of his body and was then shown a vision. “Our Lady showed me thousands of people in prayer inside and outside of the Basilica. She showed me a vision of herself in the bushes in the grounds. She was gold and blue. Our Blessed Mother showed me myself kneeling in prayer before her. She showed me great mercy and graces being given to her children. “The skies over Knock were filled with lights so bright one could not look up at it. The skies were filled with every holy angel imaginable. Thousands and thousands of lovely white angels. I could see a great healing taking place. This vision lasted about ten minutes.” There were no bright lights visible in the skies over Knock on Saturday. Indeed, the sizeable group of people who took part in the regular afternoon procession in the church grounds were there as part of the annual Servite Pilgrimage and were unaware of Joe’s visit to the Shrine. As on his last visit, Mr Coleman conducted his prayer service and rosary on the grassy patch beside the Confessional Chapel. Followers joined him in prayer, every now and again breaking into singing some verses of well known hymns. About two weeks ago, Mr Coleman brought his crusade to the Marian grotto in Mount Mellarey in Co Waterford where a few hundred people turned up for the event. There was no indication at the weekend as to when the Dubliner is planning his next trip to Knock.
