Keira Keogh (Fine Gael)
FROM: Westport
OCCUPATION: Behaviour Consultant
ELECTION CHANCES: Keogh finds herself in a difficult situation in her first General Election. As the anointed successor to the retiring Michael Ring, she should be in pole position to take a seat for Fine Gael, but the party HQ's decision to nominate two more high profile candidates means there is now a scramble county wide for FG votes. Keogh failed to get a seat in the local elections but ran a solid campaign and she now will be looking to dominate the boxes of west Mayo, where her only geographically opponent is Chris Maxwell. Keogh will also need a big vote in Erris, where local councillor Gerry Coyle always had a big influence.
