'We'll keep at it' - A rural Mayo GAA club and their struggle for survival

Pitchside Special: We visit Ballycroy GAA club on a historic day as they host a rare championship home match

Many rural GAA clubs struggle, in Mayo and across the country.

They face huge challenges in trying to field a competitive team and maintaining their facilities. 

However, it's not entirely a story of decline, as Ballycroy GAA just recently developed their new surface for the pitch. 

A rare championship home match for a team, that has always proudly struggled to keep afloat.

We have talked to Ballycroy GAA legend Pat Gallagher, the chairman, secretary, the goal-keeper, who returned from Australia and the club's PRO.
