Referee confirmed for Mayo-London Connacht Championship clash

Roscommon referee Paddy Neilan has been selected to referee Mayo's Connacht Championship quarter-final against London.

It's a case of planes, trains, and automobiles for those making their way to McGovern Park in Ruislip as Andy Moran's troops aim to get their Nestor Cup hunt off to the best start.

Saint Faithleach's clubman Neilan had had many experiences in taking charge of the big occasions.

He was the whistler for the 2022 All-Ireland semi-final between Dublin and Kerry, as well as the 2025 All-Ireland Club Championship final.

He was also the man in the middle for the 2025 Connacht final between Mayo and Galway.

The awarding of a penalty in the first half that day generated controversy, as did the lack of punishment for an elbow to the head of Stephen Coen during the decider.
