For the second week in a row, a Mayo player has been named GAA.ie Footballer of the week.

Mayo defender Sam Callinan was announced today as the latest winner of the weekly award. Last week, Crossmolina’s Jordan Flynn picked up the award and this week, Ballina’s Callinan was voted footballer of the week after his fine performance against Armagh.

The Mayo defender was impressive as Mayo overcame Armagh in narrow fashion in Castlebar. Callinan kicked two points across the afternoon and was crucial in Mayo’s win.

Next up for Mayo is a trip to Tralee where they will face Kerry on Saturday, March 14.
