After Mayo earned a hard-fought victory over Armagh in Castlebar, Mayo manager Andy Moran sat down and spoke with the media. Amongst those conversations, Moran provided updates around a number of players who have been missing of late.

The Ballaghaderreen clubman explained that Donnacha McHugh missed Sunday's game through a virus while Fergal Boland picked up a glute injury in training on Wednesday. Moran also confirmed that Darragh Beirne was released to the Under 20’s for the weekend while Conor Loftus (calf injury) and Jack Coyne (illness) were forced off during the victory over Armagh. Both are seen as short-term absentees.

Moran also explained “Cillian (O’Connor) did a full training session this morning, playing well and going in the right direction. We’ll introduce him when we feel it's right. He was up on the back pitch, himself and Tommy Conroy training at nine this morning and did the full session so hopefully we will see them in the next two weeks.”

Speaking on Breaffy’s Matthew Ruane, Moran provided an update “We will do well to see Mattie before the end of the league, we might get him in for the Roscommon game, he had an injury which was years old so we just needed to get that fixed. Moran concluded by saying he expects O'Connor, Conroy and Knockmore's Darren McHale to be back in action in the coming weeks.
