However, some have announced themselves on the big stage with a bang, tearing up the script and having the whole of the county saying their name.

Earlier this week, we compiled a list of four of the best Mayo debuts of all time and asked you to select which superstar shone brightest in their first display in Green and Red.
Cillian O'Connor, Mark Moran, Cora Staunton, and Kobe McDonald all featured, but only one could win outright.
The votes are in. Mayo GAA's most recent debutant, Kobe McDonald, has received a majority of 53.5 per cent of the votes for their stunning debut in the National League against Monaghan.
The Crossmolina Deel Rover ace stole the show last Sunday, notching 1-4 in a maiden appearance for the ages.
