Mayo GAA legend David Brady has refused to close the door on the possibility of Kobe McDonald reversing his decision to play Australian Rules with St Kilda.

Last Sunday, the teenage star from Crossmolina lit the touchpaper with a top-drawer display against Monaghan as he made his senior inter-county debut in Division One.

However, his time in the Green and Red looked likely to be a short one, as he was announced to have signed with AFL club St Kilda as a Category B rookie in late 2025.

However, according to ex-inter-county player David Brady, the door might not be fully closed on the son of Mayo icon Ciarán reversing his decision.

"He'll only go for a short period of time, that is, after his Leaving Cert at the start of July. He'll play a full round of Club Championship for Crossmolina this year as well.

"We'll work on him in between that," the three-time Connacht champion mused. "Which would you rather? An All-Ireland medal or an Aussie Rules? We're starting a little momentum here.

"I think it's not a done deal."
