HOW things can change within a few months. Last year, the Mayo team found scores and especially two-pointers hard to come by.
Now, even though it's still only February, the track record so far heavily suggests a monumental change in the way Mayo approach matches.
A more conservative, possession-based approach was mostly dropped for more direct, forward-thinking football.
While each playing style has its merits and pros and cons, one thing is for certain: Mayo have been putting up bigger scores this year.

In total numbers: Mayo have scored 98 points in the Allianz Football League so far this year.
And former forward Andy Moran will be pleased to register: Mayo have the highest point tally in all four divisions. No other team has scored more points.
The transformation into a scoring machine this year becomes even more intriguing, when we compare it to last year's exploits.
In 2025, Mayo scored 133 points in all seven league matches. This rather meagre yield ranked Mayo 25th out of 32 teams competing in all four divisions.
An astonishing leap from 25th place to the top spot.
There will be many explanations brought forward as to how Mayo achieved this turnaround.
Of course their style of play trying to quickly use space up front creates more promising scoring opportunities. Also, Mayo have started to embrace the two-pointer - finally, as some will say.
The return of goalkeeper Rob Hennelly certainly helped in that regard due to his long distance kicking.
And one thing is for sure, after his blistering debut, every minute Kobe McDonald spends on the pitch increases further points to be added.
Some words could be said about the quality of opposition played so far. An experimental Dublin team, hampered by a black card or a hugely crippled Monaghan line-up, missing many players who would usually start.
The next three matches against Armagh, Kerry and Roscommon will give us further indication. Especially the game against the Connacht neighbours could result in a shoot-out.
Roscommon have won three out of four matches and scored 97 points, just one shy of Mayo's tally.
