The meeting of St Gerald's and St Muredach's in the Connacht PPS Senior A final was called off this evening (Saturday) when weather conditions resulted in an unplayable pitch in Bekan.
The much-anticipated clash was due to take place at 5.30pm, but after a pitch inspection, referee John Glavey deemed the surface unplayable.
As a result, the game has now been refixed for next Friday, February 20 with a throw-in time of 7pm confirmed.
Earlier today, St Brendan's of Belmullet claimed the Connacht D final while Balla Secondary School defeated Gortnor Abbey in the C decider which took place in Bekan. Last night, St Nathy's Ballaghaderreen were crowned Connacht PPS Senior B champions when they got the better of St Joseph's from Galway on a 2-10 to 1-8 scoreline.
