Former Mayo coach Damien Mulligan has been appointed as manager of St Brigid's in Roscommon.
CONNACHT champions and All-Ireland finalists St Brigid's have named Damien Mulligan as their new team manager. The Crossmolina man was appointed last night and replaces Anthony Cunningham who stepped down after two seasons in charge of the Roscommon men in the aftermath of their narrow defeat in last month's All-Ireland final.
Mulligan won an All-Ireland title with Crossmolina in 2001 and enjoyed a stellar club career in the heart of the Deel Rovers defence.
He went on to manage Belmullet and had great success with the Erris men, guiding them to the county intermediate title in 2018 and a senior final appearance against Knockmore in 2021.
He was then part of Kevin McStay's management team when the Ballina man was in charge of Mayo and has now been snapped up by the Roscommon and Connacht champions.
"St Brigid's GAA Club are delighted to announce that Damien Mulligan will be taking up the role of our senior men's manager for the years ahead," the club announced last night.
"His backroom team and management teams of our intermediate and junior teams will be announced in due course.
"We wish Damien and all involved the best of luck in the years ahead." the statement concluded.
