With the clock ticking down until the first Mayo National League game under the tutelage of Andy Moran, excitement is building among the Green and Red faithful ahead of their trip to take on familiar foes, Galway.
Now, the picture has become a touch clearer, as Galway bainisteoir Pádraic Joyce has named his starting side for the Pearse Stadium showdown.
There are a myriad of changes from the Tribesmen's side, which lined out in the FBD League final against Mayo in Tuam Stadium last Sunday.
In total, four players from that clash will feature from the start of this Salthill Sunday tie.
Kieran Molloy, who captained the side last weekend, is the sole defender to start both games, while Ciarán Mulhern, Fionn McDonagh, and Oisín McDonagh are all set to play in the forwards.
The man who scored the FBD League final match-winner, Robert Finnerty, starts at full-forward, while the ever-dangerous Shane Walsh is listed on the bench.
Galway: Connor Gleeson; Johnny McGrath, Seán Fitzgerald, Jack Glynn; Finnian Ó Laoi, Dylan McHugh (C), Kieran Molloy; Seán Kelly, Matthew Tierney; Liam Silke, Ciarán Mulhern, Daniel O’Flaherty; Fionn McDonagh, Robert Finnerty, Oisín McDonagh.
Substitutes: Conor Flaherty, Brian Cogger, Cian Hernon, Seán Mulkeerin, Shay McGlinchey, Mattias Barrett, Cein Darcy, Shane McGrath, Mikey Mulryan, Shane Walsh, Liam Ó Conghaile
The game throws in on Sunday at 1.45 pm.
