Mick Regan has informed Kiltimagh GAA that he is stepping down as Kiltimagh Senior Team Manager with immediate effect.
One Mayo club who had a successful 2025 season is on the hunt for a new manager after a post on Facebook confirmed that Kiltimagh manager Mick Regan has stepped down.
Mick, a native of Mayo Abbey led the East Mayo club to an All Ireland Junior Semi Final while the men from Gilmartin Park secured county and provincial glory along the way.
In confirmation of the news on the club's social media, club chairperson Gerry King thanked Mick for his contribution to Kiltimagh GAA in his role as senior manager.
“I want to thank Mick for his dedication, commitment and enormous contribution to Kiltimagh GAA in his role as Senior Team Manager. Mick has worked tirelessly since taking on the role of Manager and his expertise and professionalism have ensured that the Club has returned to Intermediate Championship level.
This is a wonderful achievement for the Club. The journey from the opening round of the Championship all the way to the All-Ireland Semi-Final has been embraced by the entire Kiltimagh GAA family and indeed much wider community. The winning of the County Junior Final and the Connacht Junior Final marked a special time for the Club and this will be remembered for many years to come.
I also want to thank Mick’s full backroom team of Michael Schlingerman, Conor Heneghan, Liam Murtagh, Shane Vahey and James Boyle. We thank this backroom team, along with Fergal Carroll as physio, for their constant drive and dedication to Kiltimagh GAA.
Mick, on behalf of everyone involved, I would like to sincerely thank you for your outstanding commitment and leadership during your time as Senior Manager. Your dedication to the players, your professionalism, and the standards you set have left a lasting impact on the team and the wider GAA community. You led with integrity, passion, and pride, and your contribution will be remembered long after your tenure. We wish you every success and happiness in the next chapter and thank you for everything you have given to the blue and white jersey''.
The Kiltimagh GAA Executive Committee will now commence the process of considering suitable candidates to replace Mick and his management team in the coming weeks.
