All Ireland Junior Championship Semi Final
Kiltimagh 0-9
Clogher Éire Óg 2-13
In Carrick on Shannon
Kiltimagh’s journey has come to an end. The men from Gilmartin Park faced off in Carrick on Shannon as Tyrone and Ulster kingpins Clogher Éire Óg overcame the East Mayo men in frosty conditions.
Mick Regan’s Kiltimagh side got up and running after ten minutes as Oisin Mulderrig got their opening score. The opening quarter was cagey as both sides were made to be patient in front of goal.
Former Tyrone underage attacker Ciaran Bogue struck to the net after 22 minutes as the lively forward proved to be a constant threat across the afternoon.
Scores from Thomas Keegan were pivotal for the Mayo men, however at the break they trailed as the Tyrone men led 1-7 to Kiltimagh’s 0-4.
As the fresh half got underway, Liam Smyth was introduced as his energy brought Kiltimagh back into it. Conor Mallee got the scoring underway early on but Clogher kicked on once again with the impressive Ryan Mc Caughey pointing.
Kiltimagh midfielder Paul Kelly kicked an inspirational two pointer but moments later, the physical player was involved in a heavy clash which saw him stretchered off after a lengthy delay.
Entering the final quarter, the men from the Red Hand County really turned it on as Bogue got his second goal while scores came from Conor Shields and Vincent Lowry.
The Mayo and Connacht champions battled bravely but ultimately, it wasn’t their day as Clogher Eire Óg advance to next weekend's All Ireland final where they will face Kerry's Ballymacelligott.
A full match report plus reaction will be carried in Tuesday’s edition of The Mayo News.
