Up next was a trip across the Irish Sea to the ‘Big Smoke’ to take on the London champions Saint
Gabriel’s.

The preparations for the trip were far from ideal, with storms and delayed flights meaning that the kit-van only made it to the English capital the night before the game.

Thankfully for the travelling side, the challenge of overcoming the journey was far more stern than that posed between the four lines.

The men from the West were on fire in Ruislip. Whether it was Shane Kenny, Liam Lavin, substitute
Fionn Delaney or the inimitable Bolands, there was no shortage of sparkling displays.

By the time the full-time whistle shrilled, the gap was out to 22. Tooreen were back in the big time, with an hour between them and provincial glory.
