A strong second half was enough for Kilmeena to see off last year's junior champions Cill Chomáin and secure a home quarter-final.

The scoring power of the Clew Bay men carried the day, as Conor Kelly scored 1-2. 

Caolach Halligan started and scored 0-2, John McGlynn contributed 0-5.

Jack Mulchrone was the main man. His three-point from wing-back and a live-wire performance earned him this accolade. Kevin Ryder hit two two-pointers.

Kelly and Mulchrone were included in The Mayo News Team of The Week.

Kilmeena were pitted against Kilmaine next, who ended up in the quarter-final after a huge controversy surrounding their last group game against Hollymount-Carramore
