Mayo GAA Senior Football Championship: Group 4 Round 1

Westport 1-18

Mayo Gaels 1-13

In Westport

It was a shaky enough start. Westport recovered from a poor first half showing to get past the men from Mayo Abbey.

Westport forward Kevin Keane had a stellar performance and was included in the Mayo News Team Of The Week.

This was most impressive because he was introduced as a sub in the first half and made a huge impression, kicking four points, and causing Mayo Gaels defenders all sorts of trouble.

Also, Killian Kilkelly proved a deadly scorer, contributing six points.

Noticeably, Westport's Eoghan McLaughlin returned from a long injury lay-off when he came off the bench and kicked a late point.
