It all started with a convincing win over Ballyhaunis. It was an exhibition of football.

The manner in which the reigning champion dismantled their opponents in the first half was simply outrageous.

Evan Regan was Ballina's sharpshooter, as so often these days. Regan scored 2-9, which meant that he alone was directly responsible for 58 per cent of Ballina's scores. 

It was an outstanding display from the former Mayo forward, who caused havoc for the Ballyhaunis defence.
