Mayo man appointed Monaghan GAA minor football manager

Mayo native Joe O’Boyle has been appointed manager of the Monaghan minor team for the 2026 season.

Joe is son of Denis and Roisín O’Boyle, Claremorris, and is a former player with St Colman’s and Claremorris. The family have close ties with Claremorris and Mayo GAA over many years.

Joe, a member of the teaching staff at Our Lady’s Secondary College, Castleblayney, has resided in Monaghan for several years. He will be joined on the management team by Drew Wylie, Ciaran Malone, and Gerry Connolly.

He will take charge of a Monaghan team who were pipped by Donegal in the 2025 Ulster Minor Championship and Kerry in the All-Ireland Series.
