Mayo GAA star Oisín Mullin is set to start this Saturday's AFL Grand Final from the Geelong bench.

The decider, which is set to see huge crowds flock to the Melbourne Cricket Grounds, will see Mullin's club, Geelong, face off against Brisbane.

The 25-year-old has shown he is equally adept with the oval as the O'Neill's since making his way down under, and has become an intrinsic member of the side this campaign, showing a solid ability for tackling.

The Kilmaine native will be hoping he can make his mark as an inter-changer.

There is plenty of Irish interest in the tie, with Kerryman Mark O'Connor lining out at half-back for the Cats.

On the other side is Kilkenny native Darragh Joyce, who is listed as an emergency sub for the Lions.

The game gets underway at 2.30 pm local time on Saturday, while those in this part of the world will have to set an early alarm, with the tie kicking off at 5.30 am Irish time.

The half-time break is set to see a performance from Snoop Dogg.
