Mayo Senior hurling manager Ray Larkin has committed to another year in charge of the side.

The current bainisteoir put paid to any notions that he would be vacating his role at the top of Mayo hurling by extending his term for at least one more year.

The Galway native has had an excellent term at the helm of the Green and Red, capturing a National Hurling League title.

Heartbreakingly, they have fallen just short of Nickey Rackard Cup glory in back-to-back seasons, which is something he and his battalion will be looking to avenge in 2026.

“Our senior hurling team is the flagship for all our club players, and Ray’s decision to stay on for another year is wonderful news,” said Mayo GAA’s Hurling Chairman, Sean Ó Raghallaigh. “We now have twelve adult hurling teams in the county, and all these players will get an opportunity to make the grade at senior intercounty level.”

The move means the hurling fraternity will have one less job to fill, after Brian Finn stepped away from the Under-20 job in recent weeks.
