Former Mayo underage star Liam Irwin is back! The Breaffy man came off the bench for his club on Saturday night in Charlestown to make his first appearance in the club jersey for some years.
The double All-Ireland winner has been out of the country in recent years, and was seen on football pitches in both London and Vancouver, but moved home in recent weeks and lined out with Sean Deane's side as they got the better of Charlestown in Fr O'Hara Park.

Irwin was part of the Mayo minor side that captured the county's first All-Ireland title at that level in 28 years in 2013, and then was part of the under-21 side that captured the All-Ireland U21 title with a win over Cork in 2016.
The quality of his goal against Roscommon in the 2013 Connacht Minor Final is still talked about. If he can produce some of that magic in the Breaffy jersey this season, it should be an interesting summer.
Irwin came off the bench in the closing stages of Saturday night's game, but was involved in an accidental clash soon after and had to leave the field again.
