A Mayo-made RTÉ documentary on the history of the GAA is set to air on RTÉ One tonight (Monday, June 9).
Crossing the Line Films, a Westport-based film company, will see the first part of a five-part series titled 'Hell for Leather: The Story of Gaelic Football' hit the national airwaves this evening at 9.35 pm.

The show comes off the back of the success of their 2018 edition of the show, which focused on the origins of hurling.
Due to its origins in the West, it is unsurprising that the Brackloon man John Murray, the founder of the production company, focused his lens on Mayo on multiple occasions.
Tonight's episode, for instance, highlights the impact of Kiltimagh native Seán Lavin's lasting impact on the game through the creation of the solo.
Interviews with John O'Mahony, who needs no introduction to GAA minds around the country, let alone in Mayo, also feature throughout.

Episode Four is another that will be of particular interest to fans of the Green and Red, as it delves deep into the trials and tribulations of the hunt for Sam Maguire, which has evaded Mayo's clutches since 1951.
'Hell for Leaher: The Story of Gaelic Football' will be broadcast at 9.35 pm tonight on RTÉ One, and can be watched on the RTÉ Player here.
