IT has been reported that Mayo manager Kevin McStay suffered a medical episode at a training session yesterday and is currently recovering in hospital.
An article in The Irish Examiner states that the Ballina native took ill in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park during a training session as the team prepared for next Saturday night's second round All-Ireland Championship meeting with Tyrone in Omagh.
Mayo were defeated by Cavan in the opening match of the All-Ireland series last Sunday in Castlebar, the third disappointing reversal in recent weeks following a loss in the National League Final against Kerry in Croke Park and the Connacht Final in Castlebar against Galway.
McStay is in his third season as Mayo manager.
The Mayo County Board have been contacted for comment.
