Mayo GAA confirm several Friday evening fixtures for club championships

MAYO GAA have confirmed that ten club championship games will take place on Friday evening later this year. 

Some high-profile clashes, including the meeting of Breaffy and Castlebar Mitchels, will take place on Friday evenings when the championships throw in in August. 

Breaffy will also meet Aghamore on Friday, August 8, while Ballintubber and Charlestown will clash in Ballintubber on the same evening.

In the intermediate championship, Lahardane and Ardnaree will meet in Bofeenaun, as will Islandeady and Davitts. 

Killala and Ardagh will clash in the very first game of the 2025 Mayo club championships when they meet in the junior championship in Ardagh on Friday, August 1. Kilmovee and Kiltimagh will meet in Kilmovee the following Friday, August 8.  

On Friday, August 22, local rivals Castlebar Mitchels and Breaffy will lock horns in Breaffy while Garrymore entertain Ballyhaunis in Garrymore in the second round. 

The intermediate championship will see The Neale and Kilmeena and Davitts and Parke spar in Cong and Ballindine respectively. 

All Friday evening games are scheduled for 7pm throw-ins. The third round of championship games will be played at neutral venues. Throw-in times and dates for these games have yet to be confirmed.

This year’s Mayo club championships will begin with the aforementioned game between Killala and Ardagh and the meeting of Bonniconlon and Ballycastle on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Round 1 of the senior and intermediate championships will begin the following week, August 8-10, while Round 2 will take place from August 22-24.
