MAYO handball produced two new world champions after Aughagower’s Shane Heraty and Lorcon Conlon of Bofield Handball Club in Ballina captured the Mens B Doubles 40x20 World Championship title.
The pair won their final on a score of 11-15 15-9 11-8 to take home gold at the O’Neill’s 4-Wall World Championship in Coolgreany, Co Wexford last night (Thursday). The game was streamed live on Mayo GAA Handball Association’s Facebook page.
It is the latest in a long line of achievements for Heraty, who is a former All-Ireland champion and has contested five All-Ireland finals.
Both Heraty and Conlon have been congratulated by their respective clubs.
