MAYO GAA have confirmed that Kevin McStay will remain in charge of the Mayo senior footballers in 2025.

The county board has issued a statement confirming that the Ballina man will stay on for another season following the completion of a long-awaited review of the senior team’s 2024 season.

Mayo were defeated by Galway by a point in this year’s Connacht final and later exited the championship on penalties to Derry in the preliminary quarter-finals.

“The Mayo GAA Coiste Bainistí would like to wish the players and the management team all the very best of luck for 2025,” concluded a brief statement from Mayo GAA on Sunday evening.

This comes after Kevin McStay and members of his management team held a meeting with players on Saturday.

Confirmation that he will remain in charge comes after a number of delegates raised concerns about the Mayo senior team and the length of the review process at the September county board meeting.

McStay is heading into the third year of a four-year deal first agreed in 2022.

He guided Mayo to an FBD League title, a Division 1 league title and an All-Ireland quarter-final in his first year in charge.
