Naomh Pádraig 4-10

Burrishoole 1-12

In MacHale Park

NAOMH Pádraic have been crowned U-14 B count champions after producing a stunning second-half display over a fine Burrishoole side.

The Lacken, Kilfian, Killala and Ballycastle alliance shot three goals in a dramatic offence that sent a much-coveted county title up to North Mayo.

There was little to separate the teams for long periods, but Burrishoole were the better team in the first half.

Finn McHale was inspirational while Cianan Keane shot a goal that put the barony boys 1-7 0-2 after 22 minutes.

Naomh Pádraig struck back three minutes later with a very impressive goal from Roaghan Langan before Finn McHale’s fourth point put Burrishoole three points up at the break.

The North Mayo boys found an extra gear in the second half, levelling for the first time when Michael Farrell found the net.

The barony replied with four unanswered points before the winners played the game on its head with 3-3 in the final ten minutes. Goals from Finn Roache (two penalties) and full-back Leon Early crowned a glorious win for Naomh Pádraig.
