THE Mayo U-16s have named their squad for their All-Ireland semi-final meeting with Kerry.

Mayo manager Francis Regan has gone with the same starting fifteen that lined out in their epic Connacht final win over Galway more than two months ago.

Since then, Mayo have played two challenge matches; defeating Waterford and losing to Cavan, who face Dublin in the other semi-final.

Thursday’s All-Ireland semi-final against Kerry will be Mayo’s third All-Ireland U-16 semi-final in three years.

This year’s team features survivors from last year’s U-16 side that lost the All-Ireland semi-final to Cavan, including team captain Emma Higgins, Cliona Cullen, Sarah Dempsey and Kate Byrne.

The Mayo U-16 girls team to face Kerry in the All-Ireland A semi-final is as follows: Kayla Hughes (The Neale); Cliodhna Dowling (Carnacon), Isabelle Basquille (Claremorris), Cliona Cullen (Charlestown); Amy Doherty (MacHale Rovers), Emma Higgins (Claremorris), Sophie Tiernan (Charlestown); Sarah Dempsey (Knockmore), Aoife Meaney (Westport); Lily Hession (Hollymount), Lauren McHale (Belmullet), Síofra McGuinness (Charlestown); Kate Byrne (Moy Davitts), Emma Stagg (Hollymount), Katie Hughes (Westport).

Full coverage of the Mayo U16s’ All-Ireland A semi-final meeting with Kerry will be carried online and in next Tuesday’s Mayo News.
