A cruel irony has taken place for Mayo as a horse named 'Mayo For Sam' ran at Ballinrobe and lost following Derry's win over Mayo on Saturday in the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship.
After Mayo's agonising defeat on penalties to Derry, the bad luck carried onto the race track where a horse named Mayo For Sam rode by Jockey Adam Caffrey lost out by a narrow margin.
What a finish!
