AN appeal against Fergal Boland’s two-game suspension is set to be heard by the GAA’s Central Appeals Committee tonight (Friday), The Mayo News can confirm.

Ronan Kirrane, Mayo GAA Secretary, told The Mayo News that the result of the appeal against the Aghamore man’s ban will be known by Saturday morning.

Mayo are due to take on Derry in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship preliminary quarter-final in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park tomorrow (Saturday) evening.

Kevin McStay was without the services of Boland for last weekend’s draw against Dublin in Dr Hyde Park after he picked up a two-match ban for a red card received against Roscommon.

Mayo are expected to announce their squad to face the reigning Division 1 league champions later today.
