A super display from Daithí Finn was among the highlights of a solid Ballaghaderreen performance over Ballyvary in 'The Battle of The N5'.

Two goals from Finn, Richie Conway, Alex Cogan and Ashton Giblin were enough to prevent a Ballyvary fightback that was hallmarked by green flags from Conor Doherty, Eoin Corrigan and Danny Ruane.

The result was rarely in doubt in this game as Ballyvary secured a deserved win over Brackloon in the Division 2A girls decider.

Two first-half goals from Cora Moynihan and Sara McDonnell put the winners on a good footing on a day when the outstanding Jessica Staunton goalkeeper Jessica Staunton denied Ballyvary on a number of occasions.

Goals from Anna Walsh and Lucy Carolan helped seal the deal for the victors on a day when the goalscoring Síofra Bourke and Kate Ní Bhriain were Brackloon's best performers.

A haul of 4-2 from the brilliant CJ O'Hara was the highlight of arguably the best game of football played at the Cumman na mBunscol finals on Tuesday afternoon in MacHale Park.

The big Robeen forward was a law unto himself on a day when goals were the order of the day for the proud South Mayo school.

Their Gaelscoil opponents clocked up a score that would win most games, with Leo Ó Cionaoith bagging 3-2 and Conor Ó Murchú also finding the net.

It wasn't enough to stop a brilliant Robeen team from winning an even better game of football.
