TOOREEN clubman James Judge will officiate one of the biggest games of his career this weekend when he takes charge of the Lory Meagher Cup final.
Described by Mayo GAA as a ‘highly regarded’ referee in both Mayo and Connacht, Judge will be the main official for the meeting of Longford and Fermanagh in Croke Park on Sunday. It will be his first senior intercounty final after eight years on the intercounty panel.
In recent years, he has acted as linesman and fourth official at a number of intercounty games, including the 2022 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship final.
He has also refereed several club games in Mayo and other counties along the western seaboard. He is a first cousin of Mayo and Tooreen hurlers Fergal and Shane Boland.
