MAYO and Galway will do battle in Kiltoom, Co Roscommon in this year’s Connacht LGFA Senior Football Championship final.

The neighbouring counties will contest the provincial senior decider as part of a double-header which will see the senior final played at 2.00pm, followed by the intermediate decider between Leitrim and Roscommon at 4.00pm.

Liam McHale’s Mayo had a mixed league campaign with three wins, a draw and three defeats - to Armagh, Dublin and Meath respectively.

Galway, who were without the services of their All-Ireland-winning Kilkerrin-Clonberne players for some of the league, were relegated to Division 2 after a suffering six defeats and recording just one win.

The reigning Connacht champions prevailed on a score of 2-5 to 0-10 when the sides met in a thrilling encounter in Ballinasloe earlier this year.

Mayo enjoyed a convincing win over their long-time winners in last year’s final when Michael Moyles’ side won their first Connacht title since 2017.

Mayo face Galway in the TG4 Connacht LGFA Senior Football Championship Final on Sunday, May 12 at 2pm.
