RIP: Mayo Man 'forever loved  and most sorrowfully missed' by wife of 56 years

Patrick Loughlin remembered as valuable member of Mayo community

Patrick Loughlin, a popular local man from south Mayo, peacefully passed away in his home surrounded by family on January 13, 2025.

Pat will be forever loved and most sorrowfully missed, by his Kathleen, his wife of 56 years, and his six children, Assumpta (Mullin), Corina (Gibbons), Padraic, Kieran, Robert and Mary (O'Malley).

Mr Loughlin had twenty two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, three daughters-in-law and two sons-in-law who will miss him greatly.

Pat will be remembered and greatly missed by his brother Willie (Bill, Kilmaine), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and all other relatives, great friends and neighbours, RIP.ie has said.

Tributes have flooded in for Mr Loughlin as he was greatly cherished by the whole community.

Kilmaine GAA paid their respects with a tribute which read:

"Kilmaine GAA is deeply saddened by the passing of Pat Loughlin. Pat was a valued member of the community, and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Loughlin family and friends during this difficult time. May Pat’s soul rest in peace."

Another tribute read: 

"So sorry to hear of the passing of Pat. We have such happy memories of visits together. A true gentleman. Sincere sympathy to Kathleen and all the family. May Pat rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements:

Reposing at the family home in Caher, Shrule, (H91 PK50) tomorrow Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 3pm until 7pm.

One way system in place, enter via Ballyhenry and exit via Ballycushion.

Removal from Pat's residence on Friday, to arrive at St, Patrick's Church, Kilmaine, (F31 A348) for Mass of The Resurrection at 12.30pm with funeral proceeding afterwards to the New Cemetery, Kilmaine.
