Annemarie was the wife of Jarlath Cunningham, also a member of the staff of Western Care. Jarlath is very well-known in Mayo GAA circles and was involved in the backroom team of the Crossmolina side who captured the All-Ireland club title back in 2001. He was also involved with the Sligo senior football team and other clubs in Mayo.

Annemarie and Jarlath have three sons, James, Mark and Shane, all of whom have excelled on the sporting fields of the county during their teenage years, playing in the colours of Castlebar Mitchels, Castlebar Celtic and also representing Mayo.
